The leadership of the University Students Association of Ghana through it’s Women’s Commissioner has initiated a flagship program dubbed USAG IN CHARITY to ensure poverty reduction and gender equality among the Ghanaian University students.
According to the NUGS Women’s Commissioner, Ms Ida Stephany Hagan-Cherry, the USAG IN CHARITYprogram will support needy students especially women schooling in the various Universities and Colleges in Ghana.
The program which is scheduled to be launched on 24th February, 2018 has become necessary based on a research carried by NUGS which indicates that some students go to bed hungry due to financial problems.
”Some students even engage in some immoral acts just to earn a living and sometimes even to the extent of committing suicide”, according to a statement by the Women’s Commissioner.
The general public is invited to the launching of USAG IN CHARITY program at the Crystal Rose Ambassador Hotel in Kumasi.
