After his latest exploits for both club and country, Ghanaian international Thomas Partey has hailed his head coach Dieogo Simeone for his forbearance that has seen him hit the limelight.
Partey on two occasions saved the blushes of the Roji Blancos, by netting a last minute equalizer in the Champions League against Qarabag and in a similar fashion against Deportivo La Corona in the La Liga last weekend.
The 24-year-old has netted four times this season after making 15 appearances in all competitions for Atletico Madrid.
His performance has gone unnoticed, which has seen him draw praises from his coach and teammates.
“Simeone allowing me time to develop was important and I had to wait for my chances,” Partey told KweseESPN.
“The manager spoke with me many times in the past to keep me involved and now I am playing more.
“He is great at motivating the players and makes it clear to us how he wants us to play and how we can continue to improve.”
In the Spanish League, he has played 10 matches and started eight of them.
With the World Cup Qualifiers slated for this weekend, Partey will be missing in action for the Black Stars as they take on the Pharaohs of Egypt due to card accumulation.
