Meet the ‘Akatakyie’, Boniface Mensah who was awarded best KNUST medical student

The Kwame Nkrumah University of Science and technology last Saturday graduated and sworn in medical officers from the school of Medical sciences, Dental school and the school of Veterinary Medicine. Out of the two hundred and five students who graduated from the medical school, Boniface Mensah was awarded the best student in the MB ChB programme.

Dr. Boniface Mensah won four out of the fifteen awards which includes J.W. Acheampong prize for best student in Junior and Senior Clerkship in Medicine, Ben Baffoe-Bonnie prize for best student in Child Health, Addo Kufour prize for best student in Internal Medicine and Dean’s Prize for the best student in the MBChB programme. He was keenly followed by two ladies called Anita Osabutey and Abigail Omane who also won four awards each at the ceremony. Last year, Fathia Ayodele Kareem won 12 awards out of the 15.

Dr. Boniface Mensah is a past student of Opoku Ware SHS in Kumasi. He had his basic education at Good Shepherd R/C primary and JHS all in the Ashanti Region. His dream is to become a radiologist. He is expected to perform his housemanship at the Komfo Anokye Teaching Hospital.
