The Local Black Stars ‘B’ will face Niger on Thursday in a semifinal in the on-going WAFU Tournament at the Cape Coast Stadium.
Ghana topped group A with six points despite bowing to a 0-2 defeat against their West African rival Nigeria. The latter however placed second in the group – recording their first win in the competition. The Super Eagles will lock horns with Benin in the first of the day whiles Ghana and Niger squares it out later in the evening.
Aside Thomas Abbey who missed Ghana’s last group game and still look doubtful for their upcoming game and Emmanuel Ampiah who has been ruled out of the tournament, there are no other injury concerns as the squad looks fired up to put their opponent to sword and make it to the finals.
The Menas on the other hand are sweating on who to keep post after their first choice goalkeeper Daouda Kassaly picked up an injury against Benin whiles Mainassara Yahaya, who replaced him received his marching orders five minutes into the game.
A win for either side will see them face either Nigeria or Benin in the finals.
Statistically, Ghana are unbeaten against Niger – picking 10 victories with only one draw in 11 meetings, scored 38 and allowed in just four.
