Minority leader, Haruna Iddrisu has urged parliament to haul the Ghana Football Association (GFA) before parliament to explain reasons why Ghana could not make it to the 2018 Russia World Cup finals.
The former Employment Minister says the GFA should be called to the house to throw more light on how they intend to improve the various national teams and how to raise the fallen standards of the Ghana league.
Speaking in parliament last week, Hon. Haruna encouraged the select committee on youth and sports in parliament to drag the mother football association in Ghana to parliament for query.
“When its success, they (GFA) are happy and in a haste to report, you can tell us that you won at the U20 and the likes but you have failed to report on our inability to qualify for Russia 2018. He said this in parliament.
“Mr. Speaker whatever it is, Ghana couldn’t make it to the world cup and sometimes our hands are tied with statement that the GFA is independent but the association cannot be independent before parliament.
“One of these days, I would encourage the select committee on youth and sports to haul the GFA to give us a blueprint on how they intend to improve the various national teams.” He added.
