First Year Games: Mongols admit defeat to Conti, point to tiredness as the cause

Republic Hall has admitted their side defeat in the finals of the men’s football in the fresher’s game was due to tired legs, as they given limited time to rest before the grand finale. 

Despite going down by a goal in the first half, the Mongols fought back to draw parity before half time and deservedly won the game by 3-1.

University Hall (Katanga) strongly pointed out that their defeat to Republic Hall was down to tired legs.

The Mongols however suffered the same fate against the swashbuckling and unforgiving Continental side. The boys in wine showed no mercy as they attacked the goal of Republic Hall relentlessly.

From the onset, Unity hall sniffed tiredness and fatigue in the Mongol set-up especially their rear guard.

The boys in wine attacked their opponents like a ravenous animal that has been starved for days, and their glutton appetite for goals reflected in the final score line as they thumped and chewed down Republic hall by 4-0.

“My team, they were tired. My team was very tired,” he told Focus Fm. 

“We played with University Hall (Katanga) and we did not have enough rest and we went to the finals. So I saw that my team was tired.”

Despite the coach of Republic hall shoving their heavy defeat to tiredness, he was quick to admit they were beaten by a better side

“However, I give the credits to Conti for their wonderful display. They deserve to win the trophy,” he added.
