Fresh men at the Kwame Nkrumah University and Technology(KNUST) could not wait to attend lectures for the first time as they defied the heavy downpour on Monday morning to have their first ‘taste’ of lectures. Freshmen were seen finding shelter with umbrellas and shuttles early Monday morning around 7:30am, as they did not want to miss lectures scheduled for 8:00am.
A little over a week ago, the university’s community saw the arrival of these fresh men who had been offered admissions to pursue various programmes in the university. The new university students have been busy trying to get themselves acquainted to life on campus since their arrival. After registration of courses at the various departments and attending series of orientations at the department’s as well as colleges, these excited students could not wait to experience how lectures in the university felt like.
Speaking to some of them after lectures, they expressed their excitement to attend lectures after anxiously waiting to experience it. As lectures commenced on a serious note, students could be seen using the many route, to which leads to the lecture area, which is the ‘MECCA ROAD’. Throughout the day as this report was been filed, students at different levels in the university were seen entering and leaving lecture halls.
